In the case they would only have access to one type of media, most of young people would choose the Internet
Among the different media, 52% of young people of the CAPV aged 15 to 29 prefer the Internet for entertainment and 71% for learning and training. The percentages of Internet preference among the young people are fairly higher over other media than among the total population. Those percentages among the general population are 23% for entertainment and 42% when it comes to learning.
In the case of finding the latest news, young people choose TV in first place, in the same extent as general population does (45%). However, despite not being the preferred medium, the percentage of young people who choose The internet to find the latest news is considerable higher than the percentages of total population (38% and 20% respectively).

So, in the hypothetical case that young people would only have access to a single medium during a month, 64% of them would choose The internet. That percentage doubles the percentage of the general population (32%).
These data have been analysed by the Basque Youth Observatory based on the results of a study done in October 2011 and published on February 2, 2012 by the Office of Sociological Research. The research project was called “Mass Media”.
