Work camps are places where a group of youngsters of different origins promise voluntarily to participate in a work programme of a social nature together with other activities over a given period of time. The programme itself provides a means of promoting values of co-existence, tolerance, solidarity, participation and intercultural learning amongst other things.
Regulations
Respect for volunteers. Since a Work Camp has a specific series of aims, all participants shall accept the basic principles mentioned previously and shall abide by the following regulations:
As a volunteer of this youth camp I accept and hence sign the following:
1. To voluntarily work during the times stipulated on the programme for five days per week .
2. To voluntarily collaborate in the programming of free-time activities and subsequently participate in them.
3. To contribute to the general organisation of the camp in tasks such as cleaning, cooking, etc.
4. To respect the personal differences and ideological beliefs of all those who participate in the camp.
5. To stay on the camp during its duration.
6. To abide by the internal regulations of each camp which including:
- Accepting the instructions given by those in charge of the activity.
- Sticking to the timetable.
- Not using private vehicles during the duration of the work camp.
- Not consuming alcohol or illegal substances.
- Not allowing outsiders on to the camp.
7. To actively participate and voluntarily collaborate, helping colleagues and contributing values that will lead to the enrichment of the group.
If these regulations are not accepted or observed, participants may be immediately expelled from the work camp.
